The project refers to the design of an orthodontist clinic. The clinic is located within a mall and the surrounding outline of the space is a given condition. The aim was to reshape the initial spatial and functional order having as design guides fluidity, plasticity and transparency.
Starting with an empty site a thread of new materials and shapes were weaved through the initial rectangle. Colored glasses running along the periphery stretch and expand in a curved manner forming functional enclosures. A three dimensional feeling is created, allowing the layers of activity to be revealed in a “shadow” manner. The patient in the waiting area has a soft continuous perception of the clinic. Processes are revealed. Systems and tools are organized and used as textures. For example, toothbrushes are organized in a Cartesian grid creating a colorful surface. The space in between the plastic forms allows for fluidity, free circulation. Along these plastic configuration runs a lower longitudinal zone that contains all the utility areas.
